This month, we’re leading with one powerful word: love.

It’s a word we don’t often hear in child welfare, but it’s exactly what every child needs—love, parenting, and meaningful relationships. Love is the foundation for healing, growth, and belonging. It transforms placements into homes and caretakers into family. In this edition, we’re thrilled to hear from advocates across our sites as they share what they love about the work we do together and the impact it has on the lives of children, youth, and families.

Happy New Year! As we begin 2025, we embrace fresh opportunities to reflect on our mission, strengthen connections, and move forward with purpose. This month, we’re excited to offer QPI 101 training sessions in both English and Spanish and to honor the National Day of Racial Healing on January 21st. In this newsletter, you’ll find all the details about these events, along with valuable tools and resources to support your advocacy efforts, empowering you to create positive change in your community.

As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a year of remarkable progress and impact. Our collective advocacy has played a crucial role in driving change for children and families, with a dedicated focus on advancing parenting for teens in care and transforming systems to better meet their unique needs. From impactful convenings to national conferences, we brought together youth, families, caregivers, and experts to foster meaningful change and ensure every teen receives the love, guidance, and support they need to thrive.

As we enter this season of gratitude, a time to elevate and celebrate those who embody the values of QPI, we’re excited to share all the incredible advocacy happening in our sites. This is a season when our network comes together in appreciation to celebrate those who work tirelessly to transform our systems and prioritize love and relationships. We are especially grateful for the unwavering advocacy of all those who champion the rights and well-being of children, youth, and families.

With significant milestones on the horizon, including our 3rd Annual QPI Champions Conference and the graduation of a new cohort of QPI Champions, we aim to keep our advocacy as vibrant as the rich colors of fall.

As fall settles in, we’re reminded that this is a season of transition—a time of change and growth. At QPI, we are committed to driving systems change, ensuring that transitions in foster care are centered around love, relationships, and continuity.
