Our Mission
QPI is a national movement of foster care system change, made up of a network of states, counties, and private agencies committed to ensuring that all children in care have excellent parenting and meaningful connections so they can thrive and grow. A network of sites works with QPI staff to transform child welfare systems. QPI is part of the Youth Law Center, a 501 (c)3 tax exempt organization, based in San Francisco, California.
Launched in 2008 in Florida, today over 80 jurisdictions in 10 states have participated in the QPI approach. Three principles are at the core of our work: the prioritization of excellent parenting and meaningful, lasting relationships; the use of research; and putting those with lived experiences at the center of our work.
Our Staff
The QPI team is a group of creative, flexible, strategic advocates, driven by a deep knowledge of systems, a commitment to community-driven programs and informed by a diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
