Special Projects Coordinator

Kristina Tanner joined the Youth Law Center in the summer of 2024 as the Special Projects Coordinator. She is a dedicated advocate for foster youth, leveraging her own lived experience and policy expertise to drive systemic change in child welfare and juvenile justice since 2015. Having grown up in the foster care system, she brings a personal understanding of the challenges faced by foster youth, fueling her commitment to reform.

Kristina’s influence spans local, state, and national levels, where she has played key roles in shaping policies and initiatives to improve the lives of foster youth. She collaborates with lawmakers, non-profit organizations, and community leaders to address systemic issues and implement sustainable reforms.

Her advocacy aims to create a more supportive environment for future generations of foster youth, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive. As a speaker and educator, Kristina raises awareness and inspires others to join her in transforming the child welfare system for the better.
